Cataract Dam

Our run this month will be to the heritage listed Cataract Dam near Appin.

The dam was designed by and constructed under the super vision of Ernest Macartney de Burgh (1863-1929) also famous for many of the bridges built in NSW including the one we visited at St Albans over the MacDonald River. We will meet at McDonalds at Narellan at 9.30am for a 10am departure. The run to the dam from here will take about half an hour. We will travel via the Narellan Road into Campbelltown, then Appin Road to Appin and again along the Appin Road to the dam. If you are coming from the south you can meet at the dam around 10.30am. There is no cafe at the dam so bring your morning tea and lunch and enjoy a relaxing picnic.
